Apprentice Machinist TurbineAero Engines Technics Description: Great opportunity to learn precision machining on Aerospace precision components. You will engage in a range of tasks and training related to CNC and manual machining. To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform the following essential functions, either independently or with reasonable accommodation: Acquire knowledge of departmental procedures, including machine operation, quality standards, and departmental goals. Learn blueprint reading, specifications interpretation, and mathematical concepts applicable to departmental tasks. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle Cleanliness and order in workplace, responsible to keep 5S and TPM current. This program includes a combination of minimal classroom courses focused on Freeport-McMoRan policies and procedures and on-the-job training designed to develop selected candidates into highly skilled and professional trade employees. Successful candidates are responsible for hands-on learning and performing maintenance/operations activities with minimal to moderate supervision, or supports Journeymen in their maintenance activities. + Perform basic mechanical maintenance activities + Perform safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as forklifts, stinger trucks and overhead and mobile cranes + Perform work area and equipment safety inspections + Attend required classroom training sessions as necessary + Perform other duties as required **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** + Completion of, or graduation from one of the following: + A structured mechanical apprenticeship program + A certified mechanical training institute; OR + Completion of a Joint Technical Education District (JTED) program + Basic mechanical maintenance principles + Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
