The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. This program includes a combination of minimal classroom courses focused on Freeport-McMoRan policies and procedures and on-the-job training designed to develop selected candidates into highly skilled and professional trade employees. Successful candidates are responsible for hands-on learning and performing maintenance/operations activities with minimal to moderate supervision, or supports Journeymen in their maintenance activities. + Perform basic mechanical maintenance activities + Perform safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as forklifts, stinger trucks and overhead and mobile cranes + Perform work area and equipment safety inspections + Attend required classroom training sessions as necessary + Perform other duties as required **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** + Completion of, or graduation from one of the following: + A structured mechanical apprenticeship program + A certified mechanical training institute; OR + Completion of a Joint Technical Education District (JTED) program + Basic mechanical maintenance principles + Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
