As a Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for: Operating and maintaining special purpose equipment for mechanical generator inspection and repair Stripping down and rebuilding large generators and related equipment, fault finding, and rectifying issues Installing and commissioning large turbo-driven generators, synchronous condensers, and motors Performing mechanical alignment checks and basic electrical tests using mechanical, optical, and laser-based systems Interpreting specifications and technical requirements to prepare method statements and detailed reports for customers Attending technical meetings on-site and at customer premises Supporting winding specialists in carrying out in-situ winding repairs and rewinds Undertaking various duties as reasonably required to provide customer solutions Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience at minimum, qualified through a recognized Craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machines. Have 5+ years of Mechanical experience working on Motors and/or Generators. Be self-sufficient, resourceful and a problem solver. Have strength of character and high levels of energy.
