Position Overview: The Laborer Skilled - Apprentice assists with a variety of skilled trade tasks in industrial and commercial construction settings. This role supports journeymen and foremen by preparing job sites, maintaining tools and materials, and performing semi-skilled work under supervision. Key Responsibilities: Skilled Labor Support: Assist with pipefitting, carpentry, mechanical, or electrical tasks under the direction of experienced tradespeople. Material Handling: Load, transport, and stage materials and tools for efficient workflow. Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, lifts, and other light equipment as trained and authorized. Quality & Safety: Follow safety procedures, maintain worksite cleanliness, and ensure tools and equipment are used properly. Measurement & Layout: Assist with measurements, cutting, and assembly tasks to support trade-specific work. Learning & Advancement: Actively engage in training to progress toward Journeyman-level proficiency. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of general construction or industrial labor experience. Ability to operate basic hand and power tools safely. Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions. Preferred Experience: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Safety Certification. Forklift or aerial lift certification. Experience assisting with mechanical or piping systems. Work Environment: Field-based position with work performed outdoors and in industrial environments. Must be able to stand, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods while adhering to safety protocols. Reporting Structure: Reports to the Labor Foreman or Project Superintendent. Job Description Performance Contracting employs the following skilled trades: Abatement Worker: Work or removal of materials that have potential to create hazardous exposure. Hazardous materials include but are not limited to: asbestos, lead containing materials, mold. Carpenter: Perform a variety of skilled carpentry work in the construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication and repair of wooden structure and fixtures (for example: architectural woodwork, millwork, trim, concrete forms, metal and wood framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, etc.) Fireproofer: Application of fireproofing materials in new and existing commercial construction sites.
